Stanley J. Stefaniak , 97 of Medina, NY, went to be with the Lord on Sunday May, 21, 2017 at his home.

Born on July 2, 1919, In Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Sygnet) Stefaniak.

He grew up in Medina and on October 12, 1940, he married the former Wanda Maraszek, who passed in 2005. He was drafted in the U.S. Army in WWII and was a Sargent in the 410th Engineer Construction Battalion, serving as a Power Plant Operator in Port Prince of Wales. Churchill, Manitoba, Canada. On returning home he worked various jobs, including Foundry work, Policeman for the Memorial Auditorium and lastly, as a Truck Driver/Mechanic for Lapp Express, retiring in 1979. Stanley was a member of the Sacred Heart/Holy Trinity Parish, U.S. Teamsters Union, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Medina VF.W. and the American Legion, where he served as Past Commander, Treasurer and Boy’s State Chairmen. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by three children Regina (Bernard) Mahnke of Rochester; Gloria Stefaniak of Dallas, TX; Mark (Margaret) Stefaniak of Garland, TX; Five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Anthony Stefaniak and Lottie Stefaniak, both of Medina, and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by a infant daughter, Barbara, a son, Daniel J. Stefaniak and a brother, John Stefaniak and three sisters, Helen Maier, Sophie Strickland and Josephine Grabowski.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 2- 4PM and 7-9 PM at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY, 14103. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary’s Church, West Ave. Medina with the Pastor, Rev. Daniel J. Fawls celebrating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by members of Lincoln Post#1483 Veterans of Foreign Wars and Butts-Clark Post #204 American Legion.
