William Riley Obituary

William John Riley, 75, of Lyndonville NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

Born on April 18, 1951, in Massachusetts to the late Herbert P. Riley and Flora E. (Volpe) Riley.

Bill lived a life defined by hard work, quiet strength, and a deep devotion to his family. He fulfilled a career as a welder for many years of his life. At work he was known for his work ethic and skill. Outside of work, Bill enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, and watching his cowboy shows. His greatest joys were the simple moments in life, taking his grandchildren on four-wheeler rides, tending to his garden, cracking open a cold root beer, and having a slice of cake. He had a unique sense of humor and had a special way of making everyone around him laugh. He loved to tell stories about his younger years and his time as a welder..

He is predeceased by his daughter Rebecca Riley and his wife Mary (Johnson) Riley,
who passed on July 29 th , 1985, and July 29 th , 2025, respectively, as well as his brother
Thomas Riley, who passed on October 9 th, 2014. He is survived by two of his siblings,
Mike (Mary) Riley and Sharon Donahue, two of his daughters, Molly Riley, and Nicole
(Patrick) Soellner, his grandchildren, Isabella Young, Christian Young, Abigail Soellner,
and Eliza Young, as well as his great-grandson, Ace Sostre, and many nieces and
nephews.

Relatives and friends may call from 12pm-2pm on Saturday August 1 st , 2026, at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 112 N. Main Street, Lyndonville, NY, 14098. Bill’s ashes will be buried immediately afterward at the Lynhaven Cemetery in Lyndonville.
