William V. "Billy" Bogan

William V. “Billy” Bogan, 76, of Utica, NY, was called to the Lord on April, 5th 2021.

William was born on January 23, 1944 to the late Lawrence and Gertrude (Kommer) Bogan in Utica, NY.

After graduating from UFA, he studied at Culinary Institute of America and went on to become an Executive Chief and Culinary Instructor in New Orleans. William received many accolades in his professional life including Gold and Silver metals at New Orleans Culinary competitions. On Jan. 27, 1982, he married the former Maria Bernard in Saint Louis, MO.

He is survived by two brothers, Larry Bogan and Gregory (Norma Jean) Bogan, all of Florida. Two sisters, Roseann Hunsinger of CA, Nancy Bogan of New York Mills, NY and sister- in-law, Joanne Bogan of Utica, NY. Also surviving are 24 nieces and nephews whom he loved deeply.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Maria, three brothers, Father Robert Bogan, Donald Bogan, J. Francis Bogan and a sister, Mary Lou Maier.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital and Presbyterian Home, whom all played important roles in his health care throughout the last few years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 17th, 2021 at the Church of the Sacred Heart & Saint Mary our Lady of Czestochowa, 201 Main St. New York Mills, NY 13417 with the Pastor, Rev. Arthur Krawczenko celebrating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made In William’s name to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105.
