Sidney D. "Papa" MacFarland

Sidney D. “Papa” MacFarland, 70, of Medina, NY, went to heaven to be with his wife on Monday, June 13, 2022 at his home with his loving family at his side.

Born on July 11, 1951 in Warsaw, NY, he was the son of the late Douglas and Adeliade (Boillat) MacFarland.

Sidney graduated from Kendall High School and married his high school sweetheart, Linda Rowles on April 29, 1972 and together they raised four children. He worked in the shipping and receiving department at Lightening and Mixing Company of Rochester and later he was employed as a Machine Operator at Saint- Gobain of Albion, retiring in 2015. He loved the outdoors, especially while kayaking and going on trips to the casino, getting coffee at Tim Hortons, or having breakfast at the Village House.

Sidney is survived by his four children, Brain (Jennifer) MacFarland of Albion, NY, Tracy MacFarland of Knowlesville, NY, Mindy (Anthony) Spencer of Medina, NY, and Jill MacFarland of Albion, NY. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Kala, Hailey, Sydney, Cyrus, Brianna and Bryson, three great-grandchildren, Grayson Seever, Mason Seever and Aurora MacFarland, three siblings, Douglas (Inda) MacFarland of Albion, NY, Raymond (Pat) MacFarland, Timothy (Carol) MacFarland, all of Kendall, NY and many nieces and nephews and his good friends, John and Katie Brown.

Besides his parents and wife, he is predeceased by a brother, Steven MacFarland.

There are no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
