Shirley Ann Tower

Shirley A. Tower, 88, of Gaines, NY, passed away suddenly on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025, at her home.

Born on February 8, 1937, in Knowlesville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ethan and Mildred (Axtell) Erway.

Shirley grew up in Eagle Harbor and later settled on Ridge Road in the Town of Gaines, NY. She was employed by the former Bernzomatic in Medina and, lastly, worked at Kodak in Quality Control, retiring in the early 90s. She was a member of the Home Bureau and a former member of the Red Hats Society. She was an avid bowler, currently playing in a league, and a good euchre player. She was a frequent patron of the County Club Restaurant, where she was seen almost daily for breakfast.

She is survived by her three children, Robert Tower of Gaines, NY, Lorie Baubie of Basom, NY, Doug (Bridget) Tower of Gaines, NY, and daughter-in-law, Sandy Rogers of Lyndonville, NY. Also surviving are six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, two brothers, Raymond (Elizabeth) Erway of Flagstaff, AZ, and David (Pat) Erway of Knowlesville, NY, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by a son, Ronald, and a grandson, David, and her siblings, Lucille Buckner, Gerald Erway, and Donald Erway.

As per Shirley's wishes, there are no calling hours, and a private service will be held at the family's convenience.
