Sandra J. Scharlau

Sandra J. Scharlau, 67, of Medina, NY, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, Rochester, NY. She went peacefully to be with the Lord.

Born on March 2, 1957 in Medina, NY, she was the daughter of the late Milfred and Alice (Ferris) Scharlau.

Her love for her family and faith in God kept her going after 13 years of dialysis. She was very giving and rarely complained. Before becoming disabled, she had worked for 12 years at PAWS Animal Shelter in Albion, NY. She loved animals, especially her cat, “Dottie."

Sandra leaves behind two children, Jamie and Christopher Scharlau, a sister, Janis Scharlau, who was also her caregiver, and several nieces and nephews. We will always cherish the memories we have of her and will miss her dearly.

There are no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
