Raymond L. Heideman, 88, passed on to the next life, to be with his soulmate Dorothy on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the Orleans Community Heath, Medina, Memorial Hospital.
Born on January 20, 1935, in Somerset, NY, he was the son of the late Otto and Hazel (Allen) Heideman.
On June 18, 1955, Raymond married the late and former Dorothy Manning, and together they raised two children. In his early years, he was employed with the railroad, H.J. Heinz Company, and retired from Ontario Foods in 1996. Ray was a former member of the Snow Packer Snowmobile Club of Lyndonville. He was a Jack of all trades and enjoyed fixing cars from the motor to the body. In his early years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all, Raymond enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and being a mentor to his grandchildren.
Raymond is survived by his daughter, Lori (Gene Raduns) Hofmeister; six grandchildren, Rachel (Steve) Coleman, Chad Heideman, Eric (Gerri Lu) Hofmeister, Hedi (Scott Galley) Hofmeister, Amber (August Geitner) Hofmeister and Bianca (Nate Lori) Cruz, sixteen great-grandchildren, twenty-one, great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Joan Woodward and Linda Hall, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, Raymond is predeceased by his son, Russell, and a daughter-in-law, Roxanne Heideman.
As per Raymond's wishes, there are no calling hours, and a private service will be held at the family's convenience.
