John A. “Jack” Donald, 88, of Lyndonville, NY, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Medina Memorial Hospital.
Born on August 13, 1937, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Lorraine (Kelly) Donald.
Jack enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving as a Clerk, stateside. On returning home, he married the love of his life, Melody “Mel” Simmons, and together they raised three sons. He started working in his father's business as a land surveyor and, later, worked as a custodian at the Lyndonville Central School until his retirement. Jack was instrumental in establishing Little League in Lyndonville and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was the former Treasurer of the Yates-Carlton Sportsman Club and a member of the Lyndonville VFW. He will be remembered as a man of quiet strength, whose love for his family had no bounds. His warm smile, subtle humor and love for his grandchildren will be missed.
Jack is survived by his three sons, Richard Donald of Ocean View, Delaware, William (Julie) Donald of Tully, NY, and David (Kim) Donald of Columbus, Ohio, five grandchildren, Gregory Donald, Collier (Samantha) Donald, Jenna (Nick) Parkolap, Kasen Donald, Jessica (Nick) Parker, and one great-granddaughter, Roslyn Melody. Also surviving are his brother, Bill (Brenda) Donald of Lyndonville, NY, a sister-in-law, Sharon (David) Hayes, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his wife, Melody, Jack is predeceased by his two sisters, Judy Donald and Patricia (Gordon) Scott, and a sister-in-law, Linda Simmons.
There are no calling hours. Relatives and friends may attend his graveside service on Saturday, April 11th, 2026, at the Lynhaven Cemetery, Housel Ave. Lyndonville, NY, with military honors being accorded. A celebration of life will follow at 12 Noon, at the White Birch Golf Course, 1515N. Lyndonville Rd. Lyndonville, NY 14098.
