Janet M. Rook

Janet M. Rook, 84, of Medina, NY, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Batavia Memorial Hospital.

Born on May 16, 1937 in Medina, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thurman and Florence (Pritchard) Bayne.

Janet graduated from Medina High School in 1955 and on May 19, 1956 she married the late Gene Rook and together they raised three children. She went to work at the S.A. Cook Building as a Book Keeper and then worked as a Teacher’s Aid for the Lyndonville/ Medina School System. After her retirement she enjoyed camping, reading and going for walks. She was a member of the Medina First Presbyterian Church and served as Deacon and for over nine years and as a Sunday School Teacher.

Janet is survived by her children, Terri (Richard Heiney) Rook of Webster, NY, Geoffrey Rook of Michigan and Michael Rook of California, three grandchildren, Allison, Garrison and Stephanie and two great-grandchildren, Raelynn and Michael and a sister-in-law and sister at heart, Mary Scheeder of Williamsville, NY.

Besides her husband Gene, Janet is predeceased by a brother, Jack Ainslie and two nephews, Jack Jr. and Robert.

Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, August 26th, 2021 from 4PM-7PM at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Medina First Presbyterian Church, 522 Main St. Medina, NY 14103. Burial will be in the Bates Rd. Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Janet’s name to the First Presbyterian Church.
