Later, Jim was employed as Head Custodian at Medina High School until his retirement in 1998. In his spare time, Jim was an avid woodworker and scroll-saw artist and was a member of the WNY Scrollers Association.

Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ginny Nicholson, his children, John W. Nicholson, Ronald A. (Amanda) Nicholson, Kevin P. (Rhonda) Nicholson, Rhonda (Matthew) Tuttle, and Shawn P.
