Gerald E. “Jerry” Shannon Jr., 62, of Middleport, NY, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at his home.
Jerry was born on September 21, 1963, in Lockport, NY. He was the son of Evelyn (Hill) and the late Gerald E. Shannon Sr.
He was employed as a welder for over ten plus years until his retirement from Brunner International in 2024. Jerry enjoyed fishing and was a “homebody,” while working in his garden and fixing anything with a motor. When he was at home, he was a ‘foodie’, who enjoyed cooking for himself and others. Jerry enjoyed going on road trips with his soulmate.
Besides his mother, Evelyn Selenke, Jerry is survived by his soulmate, Bettyjean Diprose, his children, Amber Coyle, Kayleigh Shannon, and Scott Coyle, along with three grandchildren. Also surviving are his two siblings, Brian (Stacy) Shannon and Kathy Lord, and three nephews, Zachary, Andrew, and Travis.
A celebration of life will be held for Jerry on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Rotary Park Scout House located at 131 Telegraph Road, Middleport, New York 14105. Anyone interested in celebrating Jerry’s life with his family, please RSVP (via text message) to (585) 520-5145.
