Evelyn I. Brower

Evelyn I. Brower, 95, of Medina, NY, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 18, 2020 at her home with her loving family at her side.

Born on January 18, 1925 in McClure, PA, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Ethel Orr Snook.

On March 9, 1944, she married the late George J. Brower and together they raised five children. In her early years, she was an avid bowler and enjoyed camping, crocheting and crossword puzzles. She was a faithful member of the Millville United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was also a life member of the Medina VFW and the Moose Club.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Christine Churchfield of Medina NY, Jerry (Pam) Brower of East Shelby NY, Carol (Les Payne) Brower of Medina NY, Joseph (Jennifer Purdy) Brower of Holley NY, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Also survived is a brother-in-law Albert Brower of Lewistown PA and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband George, she is predeceased by a daughter, Bonnie Preisch, three sisters, Helen Sipe, Betty Engle, Ruth Shaw, two brothers, Harold and Guy Snook.

There are no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family and burial will be in the Millville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Evelyn’s name to Orleans County Joint Veterans Council, 13996 Rt. 31, Albion NY 14411 or to Hospice of Orleans, P.O.Box #489, Albion NY 14411.
