Dorothy L. "Dot" Kennedy

Dorothy L. “Dot” Kennedy, 84 of Medina, NY, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at the Medina Memorial Hospital.

Born on December 13, 1933, in East Shelby, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Leila (Watson) Arnett.

Dorothy grew up in East Shelby and graduated from Medina High School in 1953. She married the late George E. Kennedy and was employed with the former T.J. Lipton’s of Albion for 20 years. She also worked as a seamstress at the Newell Shirt Factory and in 1990 she retired from Fisher-Price. Dorothy was an avid reader and enjoyed going to garage sales and a good cup of coffee. She was a long time member and dedicated worshipper of the Oak Orchard Assembly of God Church.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Sarah (Derek Fingland) Hicks of Rochester, NY, Donna (Ira) Hanna of Florida, Debra (Carl) Maberry of Missouri. She has numerous grandchildren, including, Brennen, Bailey and Kelsie Hicks, all of Rochester, NY and two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Isaiah Hicks. Also survived is a brother, Robert (Carollee) Arnett of Barre, NY and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Dorothy is predeceased by her brothers, Charles Arnett Jr. Olin Arnett, Walter Arnett and William Arnett and a son, Gary Kennedy.

Relatives and friends may call on Monday, November 12, 2018, from 10-11AM at the Oak Orchard Assembly of God Church, 12111 Ridge Rd Medina, NY 14103, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with the Pastor, Rev. Danial A. Thurber officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Dorothy’s name to the church.
