Donald R. Bielak, 74, of Rochester NY, went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2019.
Born on February 2, 1945 in Medina NY, he was the son of the late Anthony and Martha (Gurynski) Bielak.
Donald attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and graduated from Medina High School in 1962. He then attended RIT and the University of Buffalo. He was employed for over 40 years as a Case Manager Supervisor with the New York State Department of Mental Health. After his retirement, Donald worked as a Legislative Aide to Bill Pritchard and was a dedicated Democratic Party supporter. His friend Bill Pritchard said,” If God isn’t a Democrat, He will be soon, Donald will make sure of it!” Donald also enjoyed traveling.
Donald is survived by his siblings, Helen (Paul) Splain of Averill Park NY, Tony (Debbie) Bielak of Lockport NY, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially a dear friend, Carolee Conkling.
Donald is predeceased by two sisters, Eleanor Stanton and Dorothy Kujawa.
Family will be present to greet relatives and friends at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 1st, 2020 at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church, 211 Eagle St., Medina NY, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in the spring.
Memorials may be made in Donald’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
