Diane Edwards Obituary

Diane Lee Edwards, 72, of Lyndonville, NY, passed away on February 15, 2021 at the Medina Memorial Hospital.

Born on May 21, 1948 in Medina, NY, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Oleta (Bacon) Kenyon. Diane graduated from Lyndonville High School (& BOCES Cosmetology) in 1966. She married her high school love, J.T. Edwards, in December 1966 and they left for Chicago the next day. J.T was in the US Navy. They spent the next few years stationed overseas in Sicily and Italy, then back to the States in Jacksonville and Pensacola, Florida.

Diane really enjoyed traveling and exploring new places, learning the culture and meeting new friends. They eventually settled back in Lyndonville along with their children, Denise and Dennis. Sadly, J.T. and Diane eventually divorced. Diane worked for many years at the Lyndonville Canning Company. Later in life, she embraced the opportunity to be able to care for an elderly neighbor in her home until her passing. Even through the loss, she felt a sense of great joy and purpose having had the privilege to be able to care for her. Years later, she welcomed two elderly sisters to move into her home and cared for them until her own health issues required her to focus solely on her own self-care.

Diane was a kind, generous, and loving person. She cared deeply for people. She loved visiting family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her sister / best friend, Kathy. They were always together! They loved to laugh, shop, go out to eat and just spend time together. She enjoyed talking on the phone for hours into the night with her sisters in Florida, Judy and Mary Lou. Diane absolutely loved her three grandsons, Jace, Jacob and Jett! She was so proud of them! She looked forward to spending holidays together and was known for always giving them special and unique gifts. She got a kick out of trying new things with them. She rode on the jet ski, played games, and learned how to use the computer. She enjoyed relaxing on the beach at the lake watching the kids swim and play. Diane was extremely proud of her son, Dennis, and his many years of service in the Lake Shore Fire Department. She loved his sense of humor and he always made her laugh. She had a beautiful smile. She was also proud of her daughter, Denise, and was so grateful for the care she gave her over the years as her health began to fade. Diane will always be remembered, forever loved and deeply missed by her family.

Survived by her daughter, Denise Edwards (Eric Conn) and son, Dennis Edwards (fiancée Rachel Muscato) (Chris Olczak); Grandchildren: Jace Conn, Jacob Edwards and Jett Conn; Michelle, Joey and Arianna Francis. Sisters: Judy (Hugh) Fraser; MaryLou Rowley, and Kathleen Brabon. Uncle Ernie (Judy) Bacon; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her ex-husband J.T. Edwards; special friend Marty Mazzo; and brother-in-law Alton Brabon.
