Christine “Becky” Fichter, 56, of Memphis NY, lost her courageous and fierce battle against illness on Monday, December 27, 2021, passing away at her home with her devoted husband and loving daughter by her side. Born on February 28, 1965, to Clifford and Elizabeth (Farron) White in Massachusetts, she lived most of her life in Central New York. She attended Nazareth College of Rochester and while in college, participated in the College Light Opera Company on Cape Cod.
On October 19, 1996, Becky married the love of her life, Casey Fichter and they settled into their home in Memphis, NY. Together they raised their daughter Hannah, who is currently a Freshman attending Ithaca College. Becky was a strong, loving and hardworking wife and mother. She worked along-side her husband to help make the business, Clean Cut Lawn Care, a success. She was dedicated in her role as office manager and took great pleasure in getting to know and befriending the customers.
Becky had a passion and true place in her heart for horses. She was the proud owner of four horses that live on the Fichter property where Casey built a barn and horse pasture. That passion was continued for many years through her daughter. She was happiest when she was spending countless hours with her daughter in the barn watching her daughter’s lessons. She took great pride in Hannah’s success at horse shows. Becky also loved to watch her daughter run Cross Country. She and Casey would run the route along-side Hannah, shouting words of encouragement.
Becky lived her life with the utmost joy, light and love for her husband and daughter and all those who knew her. Her joy in life was contagious to anyone around her and that joy, light and love will be carried forever in their hearts. She will be missed beyond measure!
Becky is survived by her faithful husband of 25 years, Casey and devoted daughter Hannah, three siblings, Lou (Darlene) White, Phyllis Alcombright and Clifford White, a nephew Paul White, a niece Jean Kelsey, a great-niece Britney Cook and cousin Debby Diriwachter, and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by a brother Eddie White and two sisters, Hilda Cook and Nellie White.
The family is appreciative and grateful for the kind, compassionate and professional care extended to her during the last weeks of her life by the staff members of Hospice of CNY.
