Arthur N. "Pete" Blanchard

Arthur N. “Pete” Blanchard, 81, of Lyndonville, NY, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home.

Born on April 19, 1939 in the Town of Yates, NY, he was the son of the late Harvey and Marion (Bennett) Blanchard.

Pete grew up on West Avenue in Lyndonville and worked as a farm hand until the age of 18. He then drove truck for various companies and drove for 63 years until his retirement on October 5 of 2020. He drove for several area firms including, Speas, LVI Inc. KJ Transportation and retired from Mileniuim Roads of Lyndonville. He was a member of the Lyndonville Presbyterian Church, where he served as Deacon and Trustee. Pete was a member of the Lyndonville Lions Club, Lyndonville Volunteer Fire Company and past President of the Lyndonville Snowmobile Club. He loved listening to Country Music on XM Radio Willy’s Roadhouse. Pete was always watching his favorite sports teams, including the Yankees, the SU Orangemen, Bills and Sabres. His ultimate sports to watch were the ones his grandchildren were playing and so enjoyed watching their games. Pete also enjoyed time on his snowmobile, playing with his dogs, dining out ending with desserts of ice cream and loved the time he spent with his friends over coffee.

Pete is survived by his wife of 9 and a half years, Edna and two children Bruce (Jennifer) Blanchard of Albion and Michelle (Jessie) Brown of Kansas City, Mo. He is survived by his grandchildren Emily, Bailey,a sister, Kathryn Prahler of Chicago, Il. and several nieces and nephews. a stepdaughter, Ann Sentiff and her two children, Kyle and Renee of Lyndonville.

Besides his parents, Pete is predeceased by his first wife, Patricia, his twin brothers Robert and Richard and a sister, Marion.

Relatives and friends may attend a memorial service at 11:00am on Saturday, March 6th, 2021 at the Lyndonville Presbyterian Church, 107 N. Main St. Lyndonville NY 14098 with the Pastor Martha Mitchell officiating. * Please note: MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE ENFORCED. Burial will be private for the family.

Memorials may be made in Pete’s name to the Lyndonville Presbyterian Church, The Patricia Bane-Blanchard Scholarship Fund and the Lyndonville Volunteer Fire Company.
