William S. Rivera Sr., 82, of Medina, NY, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Eastern Niagara Hospital.

Born on March 24, 1935 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Fernando Rivera and Ramona Santiago ”Moncha”. William arrived to the Medina area in 1953 and worked various jobs until 1965 when he joined Whiting Door Co. of Akron. He was a devoted employee for 32 years, retiring in 1997. He attended Holy Trinity Parish/ St. Mary’s Church and in his earlier years he enjoyed fishing, building puzzles in his easy chair, and visiting his family in Pennsylvania.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Lidia Flores Rivera, children, William Rivera Jr. of Medina, Roberto (Santa) Torres of Buffalo, Iris Torres of Orocovis, Puerto Rico, Zoriada Rosado of New York City, several grandchildren, including Christina and Angelita Rivera, Micheal Angelo Torres and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by three brothers, Nico, Tonin and Isreal Rivera and brother-in-law, Pablo Lugo.

Relatives and friends may attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 5th, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Parish/ St. Mary’s, West Ave. Medina, NY 14103. Memorials may be made in William’s name to the Mrs. Lidia Rivera, P.O.Box 243, West Ave,. Medina, NY 14103.
