My heart sank upon learning of my old friend’s passing. As if without any control from me that recording of memories began to play in the mind. As those pictures moved past I could feel the gentle lifting of the soul and thinking back on the boundless exuberance and crazy times of being teenage boys.

A notable memory was how much time we spent outdoors and camping out as much as possible especially in the warm, lazy days of summer. We always kept a good fire burning at the camp site and the light guided in those friends arriving late.

Now the light has guided you to that eternal warm and loving fire. I look forward to the time when we can sit about that flame together, bring out the guitar, and reminisce.

I'm so sorry to hear of my friend Buck's passing. I'm also sorry that I couldn't make his calling hours to pay my respects to his family. I played music with Bill a bit over the years and recorded his band the Rattlers at my house. I currently use a roland amp that I bought from him not to long ago in my stage rig. Billy was always a positive guy to be around and I'm sad and will miss him.

I knew him as Billy Buck, when he performed with the Jonsie Band in the 1980’s. It was an era similar to the Roaring Twenties, with nightclubs packed to capacity as Billy Buck’s fiery guitar work incited audiences to dance and enjoy life. Rest in Peace, brother. You did it all.
