Victoria Thompson, 73, of Medina, NY, entered into rest on her birthday, Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Medina.
Born on May 31, 1945 in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Sarah (Timmons) Long.
Victoria met and married Thomas Thompson Sr. on November 2, 1963 and together they made their home in Waterport, NY. On April 2, 1992, she graduated from Upstate Career Institute of Rochester, receiving a degree in Floral Design and Management, which she previously owned and operate” Flowers by Vickie” in Waterport. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, who enjoyed cooking and was known for her sweet potato pie and butter roll. Victoria was a lifelong member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
Victoria is survived by four children, Thomas (Pam) Thompson of San Antonio, TX, Michael Thompson and Greg Thompson, both of Medina, Sharon (Jay) Simms of Rochester, NY, 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, four siblings, Mae Cooper of Virginia, Johnny Long of San Antonio, TX, Robert Long and Ezekiel Long, both of Rochester. Also survived are many nieces and nephews and her former husband, Thomas Thompson Sr. of Medina.
Victoria is predeceased by her son, John and siblings, Calvin and Willie Long and Bertha Wilson.
Relative and friends may call on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 12 Noon to 1 PM at Bethel Baptist Church, Allis Rd. Medina, NY 14103, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the Lynhaven Cemetery.
