Sylas Rayne Chinn-Yancey was called home by God on February 26, 2017 and gained her angel wings. Her final days were spent surrounded by loved ones that Sylas had touched throughout her short, but yet very memorable life. Sylas’s life may have been seen as short lived by many people, but to those who would have known her they would say it was very full since she touched everyone's life that she came across. The quality of life that she lived, exceeded the quantity of time she had spent with us here. To know Sylas was to love her. Sylas may have never spoken one word but her facial expressions and dancing could bring so much joy and love to the point of melting ones heart. Even though Sylas at times was battling her health she never let it be shown. She was truly a soldier of God. Through the darkest of times Sylas would show you the brighter side of things and would show you that everything would be okay if you just have faith. She could spend hours just studying someone and laughing at them. She loved watching her cartoon shows and being entertained by her older siblings. With Sylas passing we are reminded that life is to be celebrated and to make every moment count. Sylas is survived by her strong loving mother, Jennifer Chinn, and her caring devoted father, Devasco Hamilton, biological father Sadat Yancey, siblings; Jakiah Jones, Kasiah Jones, Makari Chinn, Jakari Chinn, Camrhyn Chinn, Tanayisha Yancey, Tanjanique Yancey, Honesty Williams, India Hutch, and Tyileak Jackson; her grandparents Anita Chinn, Harold and Bert Hill Senior, and Mable Yancey. Also survived are several loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Her family will be receiving friends on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 11am to 1pm at Glad Tidings Baptist Church, 404 W. Oak Orchard St. Medina, NY. Where a going home service will be held at 1:00pm. A celebration of Sylas’s life will be held at the Shelby Fire Hall following the burial.
