Paul D. “Pauly” Schmitt, Sr. 53, of Alexander, NY, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Buffalo General Hospital.

Born on April 21, 1964, in Medina, NY, he was the son of the late Alfred L. and Shirley Ann (Debiaw) Schmitt.

Paul grew up in Orleans County and worked various jobs and presently was employed with the Batavia Veterans Administration Hospital as a LPN. Paul was advocate and positive role model for children being a former Scout Leader for Pack #650 and a Coach for Tri-Town Athletics. He was a member of the Medina Conservation Club and he enjoyed the outdoors while hunting and fishing, especially in Lake Placid. He was a member of the Oak Orchard Assembly of God Church. Most of all Paul enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his soulmate, Shawn Drysdale, his children, Paul Schmitt JR. and Madison Drysdale, all of Alexander, NY; siblings, Carol (Howard Geiger) Schmitt of Maryville, TN, Charlene Wisniewski of Canandaigua, NY, Allen (Anita) Schmitt of Barker, NY, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103 on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM. Calling will also be at the Oak Orchard Assembly of God Church, 12111 Ridge Rd. Medina, NY 14103, on Friday morning from 10-11 AM, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM with the Pastor, Rev. Daniel A. Thurber officiating. Burial will be in the Lynhaven Cemetery.
