Mildred Jean Thiel

M. Jean Thiel, 83 of Albion, NY, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at her home with her loving family at her side.

Born on October 30, 1934 in Albion, NY, she was the daughter of the late J. Clark and Aletha M. (Drake) Draper Sr.

Jean lived in Albion all her life. On May 15, 1954, she married the late Robert W. “Buster” Thiel and together they first made their home in Millville and later on, settled back in Albion, NY. Jean worked at various jobs including, Kodak of Rochester, NY, the Milk House Restaurant of Albion, NY and lastly with the former Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital, serving Meals on Wheels. Jean had an immense love of dogs, having raised Samoyeds. As a young adult, Jean was a member of the Boots & Saddle Club, teaching members horsemanship.

Jean is survived by a daughter, Sharon Thiel Corey, a granddaughter, Alicia (Thomas) Flower, all of Albion, NY a sister, Linda (Elwyn) Corser of Lyndonville, NY, a niece, Susan Miller of West Virginia, several cousins and her beloved four legged companion, “Mr. TT”.

Besides her husband, Jean is predeceased by a son, Robert J. “Bob” Thiel, a brother, James C. Draper Jr. and two nieces, Wendy Kennedy and Terri LaClair.

There are no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family, Burial will be in the family plot at Mount Albion Cemetery, Albion, NY.
