Loretta Heideman Obituary

Loretta Heideman, 84, of Lyndonville, NY, passed away February 15th, 2019, surrounded by loving members of her family.

She was born April 23rd, 1934, the daughter of the late Ed and Lorraine (Johnson) Manning. Loretta attended Lyndonville Schools. She was united in marriage to the late Alan Heideman on January 19th 1952, together they raised four children, each one a hallmark of her beautiful life. Loretta, known lovingly by her family as Grandma Retta, was employed at Harrison Radiator for 23 years prior to retirement. Though retired, Loretta maintained the spirit of woman in the very beginning of her life. She stayed active, traveling the United States with friends, caring for those who needed her, and making new friends in the local Amish and Mennonite Communities.

While Loretta was an active woman, it was her role as Grandma Retta where she truly set her mark in life. Her charming smile lifted us up when we were down, her wit was there to catch us by surprise, and her blunt wisdom was always there to keep us in line. Loretta understood the love of family must be an unconditional one. She loved well. She set her mark, she fought the good fight, she won her race.

Loretta is survived by her devoted partner of 14 years David Stote, two sons Randy (Jan) Heideman, Ronnie Heideman, her daughter Glenda (John Kenward) Dix, daughter in law Maureen Heideman, two sisters Kae (Raymond) Heideman, Audrey Manning,a brother Tom Manning, a brother in law Gilbert Cain, seven grandchildren Serena (James) Starr, Sonya (Dan) Flynn, Chip (Kristy) Heideman, , Faith (Lee) Rinker, Jay (Stacy) Heideman, Joshua (Brittany) Dix, Jacob (Brittany) Dix, 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Loretta is predeceased by her husband Alan Heideman, her son Ricky Heideman, her sister Rae Cain, and a son in law Gerald Dix.
