Leonard P. “w2Isn” Rinker, 71, of Lyndonville, NY, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Newfane Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, after a long Illness. Born on October 20, 1946 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the Charles and Jenny (Radziszewski) Rinker. Leonard grew up in Niagara Falls and from 1964-67; he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he married the former Patricia Halstead on May 17, 1974 and together they raised three children. Leonard worked various jobs, but lastly was employed by Manito Trucking and Concrete of Rochester, NY. He was a avid licensed HAM radio operator, with the call name “w2Isn”.He also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia Rinker, three children, Faith Ann (Gary) Bayne, Lee (Faith) Rinker, Paul (Kelly) Rinker, all of Lyndonville, seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the Lyndonville Presbyterian Church, 107 N. Main St. Lyndonville, NY 14098. Military Honors will be accorded at the church and the burial will be private for the family.
