Joycelyn Anne (Ramming) Jennings

Joycelyn Anne Jennings, age 76, of Medina, NY entered into eternal rest on June 14, 2018 at the Villages of Albion, NY.

She was born on July 28, 1941 to the late George A. and Alma A. (St. Onge) Ramming of Medina.

She was a 1959 graduate of Medina High School and graduated from Brockport State Teachers College in Brockport, NY in 1963. Joycelyn was a Special Education Teacher at BOCES in Medina and retired after 34 years of teaching. Her favorite saying was, “Teaching isn’t work, its my passion.” Joycelyn was an active member with the community and served in several different organizations as follows: Past President of The Retired Teachers of Orleans County, Matron and Grand Officer of Canalside Chapter #381 of the Order of Eastern Star, Choir Member and Sunday School Teacher of the Medina United Methodist Church, Scholarship Coordinator of the Child Welfare Association, Board Member of the Cobblestone Society and Museum, Past President of the Orleans County Historical Society, Swimming Instructor (synchronized) at the “Quarry” and Joycelyn was a Girl Scout who attended the International Round-up in 1959.

Joycelyn was preceded in death by her husband Robert Jennings of Newfane, NY and her sister Sharon (Ramming) Powers of Copper Harbor, MI.

She is survived by her sister, Georgia (Ramming) Thomas of Medina and by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and step-children.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018, family will receive visitors prior to the service from 10am to 11am. The service will be held at 11am at the Medina Methodist Church, 11004 West Center St., Medina, with internment at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made in Joycelyn’s memory to the organizations that she was a member of or to Dollar for Scholars, Medina High School, 1 Mustang Drive, Medina NY 14103.
