Josephine M. "Jo" Stisser

Josephine M. “Jo” Stisser, 84, of Medina, NY, formerly of Lyndonville, NY, entered into rest on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Absolute Care of Gasport.

Born on April 8, 1934 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Dominica (Minici) Culmo.

Josephine attended school in Buffalo, NY and finished in Albion, NY. On September 28, 1963, she married the late Robert C. Stisser, making their home in Lyndonville and together they raised three children. At one time she worked for Lyndonville Central School and lastly as a clerk at the former Ames Department Store. She was a member of St. Joseph’s/ Our Lady of the Lake Parish, Lyndonville, NY and enjoyed traveling with the Lyndonville Busy Buddies. She also loved cooking, bingo, reading and crocheting. She also attended a taping of the Price Is Right. Most of all, Josephine enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Madeline.

Josephine is survived by her three children, Carolyn Stisser, Daryl (Stephanie) Stisser , all of California, Brian Stisser of Medina, a granddaughter, Madeline Stisser of California, a brother, Peter Culmo of Florida, a sister-in-law, Roxanne Culmo of Knowlesville, NY and many nieces and nephews and her cat, Butterscotch. Besides her husband, Josephine is predeceased by her five siblings, Concetta, Vincent, Chuck, Sam, Joseph and her loving cat, peanut.

Relatives and friends may call from 12:30 PM- 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Reverend Daniel J. Fawls officiating. Burial will be in the Lynhaven Cemetery.
