Joseph A. Nieboer, Sr., 70, of Albion, NY, went to be with The Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Baylor All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, TX.
Born on October 13, 1948 in Erie, PA, he was the son of the late Joe and Evelyn (Hassink) Nieboer.
Joseph graduated from Greece Olympia High School in 1966. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy for four years. Upon returning home, he married the former Nancy McDermott (deceased) and together they raised three sons, and a daughter, and countless foster children. He married the former Mercy Gasad in 2006, and together they served as Missionaries in the Philippines for six years. Joseph was a machine setup for General Motors for 30-plus years. Joseph lived his life to serve God, his family, and most everyone he came into contact with. He was a loving husband, selfless father, and a faithful friend.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 13 years, Mercy Nieboer, his sons, Daniel (Katelyn) Nieboer of Euless, TX, Joshua Nieboer of Owensboro, KY and Joseph (Nikki) Nieboer of Piqua, OH, his daughter Jennifer (Michael) Walker, of Albion, NY, grandchildren Zharia, Mehkyron and Shakarion Drisdom, Mike, Makyell, Tra’marie, Tra’monie and Maiziair Walker, Price Montgomery, Tallyn, Maverick, Knox, Montgomery, Haevyn, Everleigh and Cordelia Nieboer, Naaman Nieboer, great-grandson Jaz’mir Wilson, siblings, Miriam (Dick) Snedaker of Wildomar, CA, Lois (Dale) Brooks of Lancaster, SC, Rebecca (John) Clode of Binbrook, Ontario, Canada, Ruth Nieboer of Lansdale, PA, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides his parents and first wife, Joseph is predeceased by his older brothers John, Daniel, David and James and older sister Joanne.
A memorial service will be held at on Sunday, September 22nd, 2019 at 5:00pm at Faith Alliance Church 3305 Oak Orchard Rd., Albion, NY 14411.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 23rd, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the West Ridgeway Cemetery, Ridgeway, NY, 14103 with the Pastor Greg Marsden officiating.
Memorials may be made in Joseph’s name to contribute to his desire to continue the work he had started in the Phillipines via check marked “Phillipines” to Faith Alliance Church 3305 Oak Orchard Rd., Albion, NY 14411.
