Jean M. Hawley

Jean M. Hawley, 86, of Middleport, NY, was united with her late husband, Roger, in heaven on Friday, April 20, 2018.

Born on September 5, 1931 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Owie and Gertrude (Mulgo) Owens. Jean graduated from Royalton High School and married the late Roger Hawley in 1951 and together they raised two daughters. She helped on the family farm, raising cattle and running the vegetable stand. When she retired, she helped manage Empire Orchard’s blueberry stand for many years for her good friends, Nick and Mary Kersch. From 1990-2003, she spent the winters in Arizona with her motorhome. In Jean’s spare time, she enjoyed camping, baking, mowing her lawn and spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly.

Jean is survived by her two daughters, Kathy (Paul) Wronski of South Carolina, Linda (Bill) Rakonczay of Middleport, seven grandchildren, Chad (Kristen) Weese of Lockport, Aaron Weese of Buffalo, Kenny (Nikki) James of North Carolina, Jason (Melissa) James, Maggie (Matthew) Burdick, all of South Carolina, Roger (Nichole) Phillips, Amy (Alfredo) Temich, all of Lyndonville. Also, thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and special friends, Lois Sparks of Middleport and Jim (Kathy) Barber of Medina.

She is predeceased by a brother, Melvin (Carol) Owens.

Relatives and friends may call on Monday April 23rd, 2018 from 11 AM- 1 PM at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the Hartland Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Jean’s name to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094.
