Jack M. Smith

Jack M. Smith, 82, of Medina, NY, passed away on Saturday, April 07, 2018 at the Batavia Veteran’s Long Term Care Facility.

Born on August 5, 1935 in Medina, NY, he was the son of the late Earl and Ethelyn (Hoyer) Smith.

Jack was a lifelong resident of Medina. In 1954, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and returned home in 1955 with a service related disability. Jack worked as a Lab Analyst for F.M.C. of Middleport, retiring in1967. He was a member of the Butts-Clark Post#204 American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, a former member of the Medina Moose Club. Jack also was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills and Sabres .

Jack is survived by his lifelong friends, Janice (Carmen) Strianese, Frank (Pat) Ranallo, Shannon (Shawn Ramsey) Blount and Michael (Kim) Gray, all of Medina and Nicki Igoe of Illinois.

There are no calling hours. A graveside Service will be held on a later date to be announced at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery with full Military Honors being accorded by members of the Lincoln Post #1483 Veterans of Foreign Wars and Butts-Clark Post #204 American Legion.
