Edna Mae “Sue” Bloom, 79, of Medina, NY departed from this life on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at her home, with her loving family at her side.

Born on September 2, 1938, in Fort Valley, GA, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Estellar (Lindsey) Riley.

Edna was married to the late Rev. James Bloom Sr. and she retired from Fisher-Price of Medina, NY. Edna was a strong matriarch of her family and believed in family unity and love for all. She was a active presence in the community, which included caring for and raising numerous children, which led her becoming a great foster parent for 22 yrs. Edna sang in the Orleans County Community Mass Choir and enjoyed cooking and watching her children play softball and football.

Edna leaves cherished memories with her seven children: Edward, Anthony, Raymond, Norman and Marie, all of Medina, Amir of Maryland, and Maryann (Vince Sr,) of Michigan. 21 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, four siblings, Willey Riley, Aldora Bloom, Sally Johnson, all of Medina, NY and Charlie Mae Fluellen of Lockport, NY and a host of nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Edna is predeceased by a brother-in-law, Albert Bloom, a daughter, Shamika, a son, Jimmy Jr. and a daughter-in-law, Rodlene Bloom.

Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Calvary Tabernacle Assembly of God, 324 Catherine St. Medina, NY. Burial will be in Boxwood Cemetery.
