Edith Barbara (Fuller) Draper

Edith Barbara “Barb” Draper, 83, of Medina, NY, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Friday, July 13, 2018, at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, with her loving family at her side. Born on September 27, 1934 in Medina, NY, she was the daughter of the late E. Laverne and Dorothy (Puff) Fuller. Barb graduated from Medina High School in 1951 and rode the train from Medina to Rochester every day to attend the Culver Beauty Academy in Rochester, NY. She owned and operated the hairdressing salon called Toppe Shoppe on Main St. in Medina. On October 6, 1956, she married the late Merle T. Draper Jr. and together, they raised three children. Barb then worked for the Orleans County Office of the Aging and later, retired as a case worker for the Department of Social Services. Barb was instrumental in the formation of the Medina Chapter of the Junior Catholic Daughters of America and the Medina Powder Puff Mini League and a former Den Mother of Pack 28. She was a long time soft ball player and bowler. Barb was an avid New York Yankee fan and an accomplished card player. She also enjoyed playing dominos with her family at her cottage on the lake. Most of all, she was a good friend to many people .Barb’s legacy was her love for her children, her love of being with her family members and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who meant the world to her. Barb is survived by her children, Merle L.(Skip) Draper, Michael J. Draper, Christine (Jeff) Pask, all of Medina, grandchildren, Alexis (Aaron) Williams of Oakfield, NY, Gailey (Aaron Ward) Pask of Sharon Springs, Kansas, Hannah (Joseph) Forder, Jada and Jacob Draper, all of Medina, great-grandchildren, Emma Moeller and Cora Williams of Oakfield, NY, and Oliver Pask of Sharon Springs, KS, Siblings, Laverne (Doris) Fuller, Robert Fuller, Elizabeth “Betty” (William) Menz, W. Paul Fuller, all of Medina, and Dorothy (Edward) Hellwig of Lockport, NY, sister-in-law, Harriet Draper of Medina, NY and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 106 S. Main St. Albion, NY 14411. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Medina, NY. Memorials may be made in Barb’s name to; Roswell Park Cancer Institute, 665 Elm St, Buffalo, NY 14203, or to: Shelby Volunteer Fire Company, 4695 S. Gravel Rd. Medina, NY 14103.
