Donald “Don” Robert Dix, 83, of Bradenton FL, (formally of Lyndonville, NY), went to the Lord on Thursday, October 5th, 2017.

Born August 30th, 1934 in Carlton, NY, he was the son of the late Robert and Ethel (Canham) Dix.

Don was a 1953 graduate of Lyndonville Central School. He was married to the former Jean Grimes on October 30th, 1954. Don was a salt of the Earth man who knew and taught by example the values of faith, hard work and family. A quiet man by nature, Don possessed a sly wit and benevolent soul. When he wasn’t managing the fields of local farms, or tending to his many gardens, he could be found, a Grandchild on his chest cheering on his favorite NASCAR Drivers. A loving husband, father, grandfather, farmer, coach and friend, his life’s legacy will exist in the hearts and minds of those closest to him for generations to come, he will be missed. He fought the good fight, he has finished the race.

Don is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 62 years Jean, his daughter Linda (John) Hampel, son-in-law John Hampel, daughter in law Glenda Dix, four grandchildren Faith (Lee) Rinker, Joshua (Brittany) Dix, Jacob (Brittany) Dix, Jeremy Hampel: nine great grandchildren, his sister Laura (Don) Brace and his brother David (Annette ) Dix.

Donald is predeceased by a son Gerald R. Dix, three brothers Arnold “Jake,” Dix, Harold Dix, Howard Dix, two sisters Mildred Dix Proctor, and Betty Woodworth.

There are no calling hours, A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
