David F. Kenward, 80, of Medina, NY, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the Buffalo VA Medical Center.
Born on February 9, 1938, in Medina, NY, he was the son of the late Milton and Mary (Hibbard) Kenward.
David graduated from Medina High School in 1955 and in 1956 he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps as a automotive mechanic. Upon returning home, he married the late and former Patricia Kelley on October 25, 1958. Together they made their home on Salt Works Rd. by renovating a one room school house where they raised their three children. David once worked for Balcerzak Construction, a car dealership in Brockport and as a Machine Repairman for Harrison Radiator. David was a member of the Shelby Volunteer Fire Company, a member of the Middleport United Methodist Church and member of Medina Post# 204 American Legion. He was an avid hunter, having gone on hunting trips to Pennsylvania and Montana.
David is survived by his children, Terry (Arthur) Sipala of Coatesville, PA, Chad (Mindy) Kenward of Medina, NY, six grandchildren, Todd (Krystal) Kenward, Amy Kenward, Vinnie Sipala, Madison, Hannah, Cameron Kenward, two siblings, Judy (Don) Goodrich of Medina, NY, Margaret Elmore of Middleport, NY, two former daughter-in-laws, Lorna (Harrison) Fleming of Florida, Patty Kenward of Maryland and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife Patricia, David is predeceased by his son, Jeffrey, two sisters, Nancy Kenward and Elizabeth Hall.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday, August 31, 2018, from 4-8PM at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 1st. 2018, at the Middleport United Methodist Church, 9 Park Ave, Middleport, NY 14105. The Pastor, Rev. Nathanael E. Lange will officiate and burial will be in the West Ridgeway Cemetery with military honors being accorded by members of Lincoln Post # 1483 Veterans of Foreign Wars and Butts- Clark Post # 205 American Legion.
