Currie Lucas

Currie Lucas, 73, of Medina, NY, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 7, 2018 passing away in Southern Pines, North Carolina.

Born on June 4, 1944, in Fort Valley, GA, he was the son of the late Rufus and Christine (Holloway) Harper.

Currie moved to Medina with his parents in 1956; he graduated from Medina High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1964. While serving in Panama, he met and married the late Alicia Griffith on September 30, 1966. Upon returning to Medina in 1968, they both were employed with Harrison Radiator/Delphi Thermal Systems. He retired as a General Foreman in 2005. After his retirement, Currie ran his own construction company. He was associated with the Gateway to Heaven Church and was a member of Medina Rotary and Shelridge Counrty Club and the Medina Business Association. In his spare time, Currie enjoyed golfing, cooking, fishing and computers.

Currie is survived by his two sons, Antoni of Culver City, CA and Alex of Medina, six grandchildren, Tia, Tyler, Aryanna, Brandon, Isiah, Jackson, seven siblings, Margie Eason of Medina, Forrest Harper, Burrel (Kathy)Harper, all of Lockport, Equilla (Benjamin) Shannon of Medina, Elizabeth Westbrook of Montgomery, Alabama, Joseph (Dana) Harper of Lockport, Princess M. Harper of Medina. Also survived are numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and his loving companion, Theresa Baity.

Besides his parents and wife, Currie is predeceased by his brother Rufus and a sister, Shirley.

Relatives and friends may call on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 4PM-8PM at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, 203 West Center St. Medina, NY 14103. Burial will be in the Boxwood Cemetery with Military Honors being accorded by members of Lincoln Post #1483 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Butts-Clark Post #204 American Legion.
