Sydney R. Allis, 92, of Medina, NY, passed peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 12, 2017, with his loving family at his side. Born on July 8, 1924, in Medina, NY, he was the son of the late Ray E. and Minnie (Mosey) Allis. Sydney graduated from Medina High School in 1942 and on January 18, 1949 he married the former Christine Dack and together they raised four sons. He worked on the family farm for most of his life and later drove truck for many years while he still continued to farm. He was a member of the Jr. Wilson Sportsman's Club and he enjoyed gardening and was a avid bowler. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Christine, four sons, Donald Allis of Rochester; Robert (Ruth) Allis, Thomas (Linda) Allis, Roger (Annette) Allis, all of Medina; nine grandchildren, Amy, Michael, Scott, Christine, Steven, Karen, Sterling, Hayden, Karley; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Bacon of Medina and a niece and a nephew. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103 and may also call from 10- 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 18, 2017 where a Funeral Service will held at 11:00 AM with the Rev.
