Stephen R. Bane, Sr., 66, of Lyndonville NY, entered into rest on Monday, September 25, 2017, at Batavia’s Veterans Hospital.

He was born on August 13, 1951 in Medina, NY. He was the son of the late Irving and Myra (Goldsmith) Bane. Stephen graduated from Lyndonville High School in 1969. He enlisted in the US Army in 1970, during the Vietnam Era. Upon returning home from service, he worked various jobs including Harrison Radiator, Abex Manufacturing and Lyndonville Vinegar. He was a long time member of the Lyndonville Fire Department and Auxiliary, holding several different positions. Stephen was an avid hunter and was a Hunter Education Instructor for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Yates-Carlton Sportsman Club, where he served as past president. Stephen enjoyed hunting, country music and computer games.

He is survived by his children, Tina (Robin) Woolley and Stephen R. (Desiree) Bane, Jr. , all of Lyndonville, NY, three grandchildren, Brandon, Owen and Maxx, two siblings Michael Bane of Lyndonville, NY and Laurel Bane of Medina NY and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Stephen is predeceased by a sister, Lynne (George) Robb. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 1-3 pm at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 112 N. Main St. Lyndonville, NY 14098, where a funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM. Burial will be held at the Lynhaven Cemetery with full Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stephen’s names to the family.
