Roy E. Dowdall Sr., 80, of Medina, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home.

Born on May 7, 1937 in Jamestown, NY, he was the son of the late Edward and Helen (Josefex) Dowdall Roy was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during Vietnam and on returning home, he married the former Marlene Benner on January 4, 1959. Roy was a self-employed carpenter for the Medina area and was loved by all that knew him, especially by relatives, friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene Dowdall; children, Roy (Katherine Schmitt) Dowdall Jr. of California; Cindy Dowdall and Tamara (Casey Lewis) Dowdall, all of Medina; two grandchildren, Zachary Dowdall and Riley Holmes.

Besides his parents, Roy is predeceased by a son, James Dowdall.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, June 4th, 2017 from 1 PM-2 PM at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103, where a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Joe Szalay officiating. Military Honors will be accorded at the Funeral Home by members of Lincoln Post #1483 Veterans of Foreign Wars and Butts-Clark Post# 204 American Legion.
