Robert G. “Bob” Palmer, 68, formally of Medina, NY, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Webster Health Services in Eupora, MS. Born on June 7, 1948 in Medina, NY, he was the son of the late Earl and Mary (Pearce) Palmer. Bob graduated from Lyndonville High School in 1967 and grew up in Lyndonville and Medina, but lived in many places throughout his life, including New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Florida, South Carolina and Mississippi. Before retiring, he worked for the New York State Commission for the Blind as a vending stand owner/operator. He enjoyed spending most of his time outdoors, whether it be fishing, hunting, raising quarter horses or tinkering in his workshop. Bob was a source of laughter for his family and friends. He was an amazing storyteller and enjoyed making people smile. Bob loved his children and extended family, he will be greatly missed. Bob is survived by 4 children, Heather (Bryan) Monahan of Westbrook, ME, Kendra Palmer of Greensboro, NC, Rachel (Cory) Frasier and Tyler Palmer, all of Medina, four siblings, Laura (Bill Burnett) Whitesell of Lockport, Donald (Karole) Palmer of Cheektowaga, M. Susan Hill of Albion, James (Helen) Palmer of Moncks Corner, SC and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, August 4, 2016, from 6-9 PM at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103, where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, 11:00 AM and burial will be in the Bates Rd. Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Bob’s name to: New York State School for the Blind, 2A Richmond Ave. Batavia, NY 14020. Or to: Mississippi School for the Blind, 1252 Eastover Dr. Jackson, MS 39211
