Dwayne K. Griffith, 54, of Medina, NY, entered into rest, suddenly on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Medina Memorial Hospital. Born on October 10, 1962 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late John Scott and Cynthia Griffith. Dwayne graduated from George Westinghouse High School in Brooklyn and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He returned home after eight years of service and moved to Medina and worked various jobs including Brunner, Sears and Medina Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Harmer, two children, Shane and Adriana and two grandchildren, Mahri and Madalynn, all of Medina. Two sisters, Ernesta (Samuel) McEwen of Brooklyn and Delcina (Carlos) Young Smith of Medina, two uncles and a host of aunts and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Dwayne is predeceased by two brothers, Anthony and Gordon, grandmother, Blanche Griffith and a grandaunt, Tia Bey. Relatives and friends may call on Monday, January 9, 2017, from 11 AM-1 PM at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM and burial will be in the Boxwood Cemetery with Military Honors being accorded at graveside by members of the Lincoln Post #1483 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Butts Clark Post #204 American Legion.
