Betty I. Whitney, 87, of Middleport, NY passed away on Sunday, August 07, 2016 at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Medina. Born on May 2, 1929 in Middleport, NY, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Mildred (Farewell) Whitney. Betty graduated from Roy Hart High School in 1947 worked as a cashier for the Red & White Grocery Store of Middleport and later worked for Harrison Radiator for 32 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Middleport Fireman’s Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Middleport Senior Citizens and she enjoyed going to lunch at the coffee shop. Betty is survived by a sister, Janet (Harvey) Lyndaker of Middleport, an aunt, Marie Conley of Barker, a nephew, David (Jaime) Lyndaker of Holley, a niece, Heidi (Toby) Lyndaker Williams of Seneca Falls, NY, a great niece and nephew, Allison and Christopher, very dear friends, Robert and Mary Busch of Florida and their sons, Robbie Busch of Buffalo, Scott (Jane) Busch of FL, and Kevin (Sue Pawlaczyk) Busch of Middleport and a cousin, Joanne Whitney of Lyndonville. Relatives and friends may call from 11AM- 1 PM on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103, where a Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Jim Knapp officiating and burial will be in the West Ridgeway Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Betty’s name to: Middleport Methodist Church, 5 Park Ave, Middleport, NY 14105.
